27 Jan 2012 | What's hot in issue 333 of Unique Cars mag

Young editorial bloke Scott has trawled through the ads of issue 333 of Unique Cars mag and come upwith his top four picks. Strap yourself in...

Page 28. 1984 Nissan Bluebird Group C. $220,000. A historic car in Australian motorsport. George Fury became the first man to put a Japanese car on pole for the Bathurst 1000 with a scintillating lap in 1984. A quick YouTube search will provide footage of the 1.8-litre turbo-powered rocket in action.

Page 179. 1909/1912 Ford Model T. $90,000/$80,000. A pair of as-new Model Ts from Tasmania (and no, they aren’t sitting in the Ford showroom…). Superb examples of motoring from another era.

Page 201. 1991 BMW 735iL. $19,500. Most people think I’m deranged, but I have a soft spot for the E38 7 Series. Sure, there is the potential for financially ruinous repair bills, but on the upside you get a V8-powered long-wheelbase limousine for the price of a new Ford Fiesta. Gotta love depreciation.

Page 225. 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T. $58,900. Camaros too common? Mate’s already got a Mustang? Dodge could have the answer to your pony car question. The Challenger failed to reach the stratospheric heights of its Ford and GM brethren, but this genuine R/T 383 with plenty of options will garner just as much respect from those in the know.
