"While looking through some old
photos I found a couple that you may find interesting. Back in 1987 my
brother's teenage in-laws purchased a really solid 1968 Hemi Charger
R/T. It was equipped with a 4-speed and a 3.54 Dana rear. It was one
of only 211 '68 Charger R/T Hemi 4-speed cars. If you look you can see
the 'Hemi' emblem on the Charger's door. The motor needed a rebuild, so
the brothers tore it down, purchased new pistons and planned for the
build-up. They eventually lost interest and traded the car (with the
original hemi) for a 1970 GTX that was a poor running backyard
restoration at best. They of course instantly regretted trading the
Charger. I took these photos back in the winter of '87. Even then it
was mind-blowing to discover an all original Hemi car and a true 'Hemi
(engine) In A Barn'."
