I'd like to see the GEELONG SPEED TRIALS come back. It ran from 1956 until 2007 when the the council decided to not allow the event anymore stating it causes too much disruption.

This is despite holding annual triathlon events and this year Geelong is even host city for the 2010 UCI Cycling Road World Championships running from 29Sep-3Oct (5days), which is bound to causes a larger area of the CBD to be closed causing gridlock.

What a bunch of hypocrites.
(Personally, I believe grown men wearing lycra should be banned. It's just wrong!)

Geelong owes a great deal to its motoring connections. "The Geelong Speed trial" were held on the Eastern Beach foreshore area and its grassy embankment acted as an amphitheatre for thousands of spectators. It was a unique an exciting event and cannot be replicated anywhere else.

The Bathurst 1000 would do it for me. Concours show many wonderful and restored vehicles, which I'd love to see, but at Bathurst, you not only get to see ace racing, but you get to meet many enthusiasts just like you and see many modified and treasured cars of the public. Oh, and it's in Australia and we rule.

Although I have always wanted to see the Goodwood Festival of Speed I would like to see the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance before I go to the Melbourne Concours d'Elegance. Regards David Forster
